I rather like my new icon. :> Thank you DA. :heart:

Hello art folks, non art folks, lurkers, writers, readers, viewers, singers dancers, blahblahblahabalhlalalgldgdljflkfgdlgdfg...

I wanted to ask a question cause every once in a while I question why I like certain things about people's artwork and asking myself questions is boring and pointless since I know the answer already anyway. So I wanted to know from you guys, what does it for you? Not necessarily what turns you on but what about artwork or stories of a particular nature. What really grabs your attention?

I tend to look at faces and hands in artwork. If it's not hands and faces, it's usually the style, mood or theme of the image. Sometimes something really goofy will hit me in the right way but for the most part I really like art with a strong way of expressing itself.

In literature I tend to affix to the style of the writing and how plausible the plot is and the way the characters interact. If the flow of the story is really disjointed or if the pace suddenly changes and gets really gritty I stop reading and just skim.

but what about you? :>

An image or a character that seems to imply a story or a bigger universe, rather than what they're doing in a contextual vacuum.

Failing that: a thick luscious ass.

Cool expressions, poses, good anatomy, good coloring skills...stuff like that.

I like quality work. :)

Mmff, I like bold outlines, lots of detail, and flat colours, bonus points if they look acidic or natural/browns. *klar is like, one of my favourite artists nom ;;

Strong characters, always, characters that are unique or different, no matter how 'attractive' or well drawn

There are some shit hot artists on DA who's artwork is amazing but are really generic characters without any depth...and i know that's not always the point of a piece of artwork (like with landscapes or photography for example), but what keeps me watching a persons art is the ability to tell a good story or generate unique characters through art

I like perspective in the image, though what truly gets my eye is the picture in totality. does the character feel out-of-place with the background? why? is the lighting right? why is the penciled character in the middle of a oil brushed scene?

I like specific linework and shading styles. Oddly enough, I don't really like things to look photorealistic unless they're actually 3D.

In literature... it's gotta be funny. Even in erotica, I demand humor!

for me its the type of style used....and if the picture gives me a certain mood and if the characters have well made personality...
and action is a must!!

literature on the other hand doesn't sit well with me -_- (can't sit still long enough to get through a book)

to me its the style, if something is well done or if the mood and personality of the character is carried out well. i like that kind of stuff ^ ^
